Hi My broadband has been constantly going from 6Mbps to 0.1Mbps like a yo-yo! Very annoying as one moment it's fine the next it's struggling to load a page. The router has been plugged into the test socket since yesterday, but the connection dropped at 9.30 this morning, which probably didn't help. The only bit we can't test is the wireless as i'd have to plug the router into an extension and I understand the router needs to be left plugged in the test socket for as long as possible. The computer reports my wireless signal as full strength. We recently transferred to ADSL2+ on 23/12, so an obvious possibility it is related. This is what the router is saying:
Uptime: 0 days, 3:34:55 DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 22,434 Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 4.00 Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 19.5 Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 5.0 / 11.0 SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 27.5 / 2.5 Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / TSTC Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 11 / 0 Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 1 / 0 Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0 Loss of Link (Remote): 0 Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 1 / 0 FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0 CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 48,959 HEC Errors (Up/Down): 385 / 34,635
Do you think I should go ahead and test a wired connection to remove that possibility? I'm in a block of flats so prob. lots of things that could mess the wireless up.
