Tried last night with wifi only - same issue persists.

Really need a test with WIRED only, the wifi NIC in the PC being disabled.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Ignore what I said about the tablet behaving differently, it must just of been a coincidence....
Bang on 9pm now and its just started again, speed is down to 0.003mbps from 6.3mbps, both PC and tablet with same speed -  tested using ookla speedtest app and web version on PC.
What is going on?

Speed increased back up again to 6.3mbps 10 minutes later after dropping initially

Hi,
Looks like we are going to have to get down and dirty on this one and implement some detailed monitoring!
Can you please down,load RouterStats (full) and configure as per the links below.
Can you please also look at thinkbroadband's quality monitoring.  see the TBB sticky thread for that in feedback.  If you do not have a fixed IP (more than likely) you wil need to re-establish the monitor after evey new PPP session.  A bit tedious, but no great hassle.
When you've got this in place, we can see much better what is happening with your link.
The precise timing of the slow down rather points to either congestion or electrical interference.  These two monitoring tools will tell one way or another.
