I have had an email from PlusNet saying that I'm close to using up my download limit for the month. (I'm on the £24.99 per month service, whatever it is currently called). The question I have is, how do I know when a new billing month starts and I can safely let my daughter loose on the internet again
[quote=PlusNet]Your peak-time usage for this billing month just exceeded 11GB.
Although this is not more than your allowance, we wanted to make you aware
of light restrictions to your connection speeds that come into force should
you reach 13GB. These restrictions help you to stay within your allowance,
and ensure that all customers receive the best possible quality of service.

Having said that you can download outside the peak hours (4pm - midnight) without it counting to your usage.
Hope this helps,

Watch the extended peak times, and the traffic shaping;

£25 per month is sounding a lot for 13GB, I am guessing that you are on a legacy product.

Albert, you really should consider changing although you no longer have the option to change to the premier product (which is effectively what you have) costing £21.99/month. The closest option would be BBYW option 3 @ £19.99/month although the peak time will be 8am to midnight, not 4pm to midnight as you currently have.

Quote from: chillypenguin EasyStart, is my guess.
Chilly
Yes, Easystart is what it was called. I didn't realise that I could change options... I thought that I would have to repay the cost of my router or something. Come to think of it, I think I did pay for my router anyway.
Option 3 sounds an altogether better deal. How do I switch. (I don't actually need much webspace either... I only really need BB for surfing and email. Is there an even better option?)
And what is OP?
Albert

The easystart products actually paid for the activation (which you would have got 'free') in the first 12 months. If you had hardware you did not pay for this would have added £5/month to the bill.
A for the best product... What was your last 3 months usage (the total usage not just peak time) - you can view this via the member centre page, click connection settings then view my usage, then view your usage history.
BBYW product descriptions
If it is under 8GB the BBYW option 2 package @ 14.99 may suffice.
If between 8GB and 20GB (unlikely given type of usage) then BBYW option 3 is what you want.

Looking at your usage, I'd recommend Option 3 (20GB @ £19.99). It may even be Option 2, but I think you may pass the 8GB limit on occasion so I reckon that Option 3 would be your best bet.
