Check you router lights
Your router lights can tell you a great deal about what is happening when things are not as they should be. The colour of the lights and their state will tell you all you need to know ... if only you could find the help sheet which came with the router. That information can also be found in the depths of the on-line help & support guides. The following links make the material easier to find.
Yup! Just like the BT Modem reported no xDSL signal.
Self help diagnostics with a simple thing as a telephone handset can save hours or days of stand off arising from not being able to listen to the line ...
Try running the Broadband fault bot - see the link below - just need a mobile phone to send a text ...
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

It was after seeing that same message on my tablet this morning that I had the conversation with the engineer.
I just tried an older router but no joy. I can't see beyond the lack of aDSL light on the modem. I don't have access to a "land" phone.

Cables all appear fine, I've connected and reconnected. The router is back in it's usual spot and it is steady orange.

Do you mean the BT modem is back in the mix, or have you left it out?

Is it really needed - how much extra length dies it actually give you? It is just an added point of potential failure.

If the Hub Two is connected to a modem which is turned on it will be using the WAN port the light will be solid orange when there the modem has a DSL link down fault. The Hub detects a Ethernet connection but can not make a successful PPPoE connection, so it reports 'something is wrong'
If the Hub Two has NO DSL or WAN physical connection the light will flash orange

Point is that having connected the router direct to the primary socket the modem is eliminated as the source of this problem.
Agreed, but unless the extra cable length is essential, it merely introduces an unnecessary point of failure.

@bobw1943 Hi!
Thanks for taking my call, as discussed I will be calling you back later today to go through some quick checks, then we can look at raising this further.
Is 4:30 pm still okay with you?
Regards,
Lex
@Townman Cheers for notifying us. Highly doubt it is the router at fault, testing is showing that there is a potential for router setup, if not send it right to Openreach.
When I speak to bobw1943 later today I will update here again with the outcome.
