Broadband activation

Hi forum
I was only told today that when the engineer comes it can take 5-7 days to activate the broadband. Is there anyway this could be sped up as I believe I've seen some people have their activation dates a bit quicker than the one given

Re: Broadband activation

Is this for Fibre or normal ADSL? Do you already have a phone line?

Re: Broadband activation

That timescale is probably correct as the broadband can't be ordered until the phone order has completed. I suggest you chase them to make sure the order is placed - ring them the following day to check.

Re: Broadband activation

If the engineer is confirmed as the 9th you shouldn't need to chase before then. Give them a ring on the 10th to make sure the order is placed). You could also post on here on that day to ask for confirmation.

Re: Broadband activation

broadband orders take 5 to 7 days to complete so it would be more likely to be active by the Thursday of the following week yes (April 18th).

Re: Broadband activation

so is this when the 10 day training period starts? and at the start of the training period is the internet usable at all or are the speeds terribly low deeming broadband activity unusable?

Re: Broadband activation

No, that would be a bit self-defeating if it was unusable. You should find it's working fine but that the speeds might be below estimates.
