Hi, I'm new to Plusnet ( Broadband just started today) and already since 5pm..my usage meter is showing 600+mb of usage!
I'm pretty sure I've only been surfing the net and a few videos off youtube. Other laptops in the house have been turned off, so it's only my laptop.
Also i have secured the router with a WPA password so I'm sure it can't be someone else..
Thnx

Welcome to the forums
One way to check is to install Networx http://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/ to monitor your usage.
Another one I use is Bandwidth Monitor 2 from http://www.rokario.com/products/bandmon/2-0/ which allows you to see the bandwidth used in real time (for example when watching iPlayer or YouTube)

Hi shady123,
welcome to the forums. Some youtube videos can use quite a lot, especially the higher quality ones, but as Jim says there are ways to monitor your usage. You can also find that sometimes there are programs running in the background of your computer using bandwidth you may not be aware of.

For example the 49 Windows updates that Microsoft released on Tuesday ! - that increased my download usage significantly for two days !
