Hi there,
My broadband was activated yesterday and I set up my computer and router this afternoon.
My top speed seems to be 2meg (and this is my IP profile with BT) however I think I can get up to 8meg?
How does this happen, does my speed gradually get faster over the next couple of days?

The BT IP profile should sort itself out in a day or so as you don't have 21CN ADSL2 available

Thanks for your reply.
Do I need to do anything (like reboot the modem router) to pick up the changes?

I don't think so.
But if nothing has happened by tomorrow a single disconnect / reconnect of the router (you can just unplug it from the phone line, leave it for 5 mins and then plug it in again)
Given your excellent speeds this won't have any side effects if you only do it omce

I vagually recall that all new ADSLmax connections (20CN system) are automatically set initially to a profile of 2.0 by BT.
The profile then adjusts as appropiate up/down.
Don't know the time scale for this.........I suspect Jim is right when he says 'a day or so'
