Broadband Only

Hello, as of yesterday I have changed to full fiber to box with no landline, could I ask, do I need a new to fit a new faceplate to Main socket?
I have removed phone line connection and there is only the cable tha runs up to Router, the faceplate is a filltered one by Openreach, would this one be ok?

Re: Broadband Only

It should work just as before. No need to replace it unless it is faulty.

Edit: the above applies if you have just got rid of the land-line - i.e. moved from FTTC to SOGEA. If you have moved to Full Fibre (no copper involved), then bmc's reply below applies.

@jono

I'm not cerain I understand the question. If you've moved to Full Fibre then a new cable is installed to a wall mounted ONT, completely bypassing the old copper cable and master socket. The router gets conencted vua an ethernet cable.

Re: Broadband Only

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly, sorry fiber to box then wire to house, the face plate is filtered so I thought with phone removed i may have had to fit a new one.
I think I get it now, no new faceplate.

Re: Broadband Only

@jono

Indeed, no new faceplate required.

There's no change to the way your internet is provided (other than better speeds) - just no phone service so no phone required.

Re: Broadband Only

I would remove the filtered faceplate and check that there are no extensions connected, if so, remove them before replacing faceplate.
