Re: Bit of a result!

Weird thing over the weekend, router loss connection and reset itself, fine i thought till i checked routerstats....it reconnected the noise margin 3db lower (currently @  3.5db) and consequently sync now @ 18,217.
Have tried a cold boot of the router but it still connects at or around 3db noise margin, now would this be a case of the router giving up the ghost or something line based causing this?
.......Also,just noticed the PN profile now showing @ 14500.

Re: Bit of a result!

Obviously, DLM considers your line sufficiently stable for the noise margin to be lowered to that level - my line has been at 3dB for some time, though the sync has been varied slightly in that time. If the error rate goes up too much, it will probably change it's mind Roll_eyes Your PN profile may change soon to match - enjoy it while it lasts Wink

Re: Bit of a result!

It is chucking up a few errors, tho the can`t say i`ve noticed anything with either playing games (ping),downloading or streaming.
If that is the case, when you see it Chris can up kick the profile again? Cheesy

Re: Bit of a result!

Hi,
I've given your profile a nudge, that should take effect shortly. I can also see a high number of errors on your line, that would concern me to be honest. It's likely due to your low SNR. If you start to have any problems, it may need shifting up to 6db.

Re: Bit of a result!

That`s what i was thinking about those errors Chris, would it have been the DLM that kicked me down that low or could it have been the router/line?

Re: Bit of a result!

Well to be truthful, DLM will automatically put your SNR up to 6db if it felt the errors were causing your line to become unstable.
Looking at your graph:

I'm not sure they are causing you huge problems.

Re: Bit of a result!

Seems like DLM saw sense, router just restarted and now bach to 6.5db noise margin and a sync of 16283. Cheesy
No idea why it thought things were ok to drop me down 3db this morning. Tongue

Re: Bit of a result!

DLM is off on one again, just cold booted the router and it`s brought me up to 3.5db noise margin from 2.5.db over the weekend.

Re: Bit of a result!

Hi,
If the errors aren't causing you any issues whilst using the broadband, I would leave it as it is. I can fix your SNR to 6db if you prefer though.

Re: Bit of a result!

Dl speed seems a little more erratic than usual this morning, going to try another gateway hop and see if that improves it,otherwise it`s situation normal apart from the drop in nm and increase in sync speed (which the profile your side hasn`t caught up with again Cheesy ).
