Re: Bit of a result!

Looking good Smiley
I've just placed an order for your upload speeds to be uncapped. That should take around 24 hours to complete.

Re: Bit of a result!

No problem.
That sounds like a good idea - we'll leave everything as it is apart from uncapping your upload speeds Smiley

Re: Bit of a result!

Upload was uncapped a few hours ago,BUT my line speed has dropped back down to 4.4mb from the manually set 14440mb. Sad
Could someone reset that for me please? Smiley

....Also,i noticed this on a closed service ticket just now
"An update report has been received for this account.
The broadband service is now being transferred to the 21C Network.
The transfer will complete by midnight on 21/02/2013."
Seeing that i`m already on 21cn,what does that mean? Anything to do with the BT wholesale checker still reporting my estimated speeds of 6.5-8mb where my line is now capable of 16mb?

Just called CS,profile manually changed back to 14440 and it seems tho my exchange is ADSL2,i was possibily on a 20CN profile,so seeing my connection is now so much better,i`m being put on a 21CN one. Smiley

Re: Bit of a result!

Hi there,
The issue is that your line is occasionally resyncing and the exchange is recording sync rates around the 4Mb level - hence the profile changing:

We can keep adjusting though as it doesn't take long, but this isn't ideal - I guess everything plugged into the line is filtered?

Re: Bit of a result!

The drops would have caused by me,from this end the line has been fine since the engineer cut of the 2nd cab and had me running through just my nearest one.
I`ll see what happens when i get switched onto 21CN (says 12am of the 21st....is that midnight tonight or in just over 24hrs time?). Will that process cause a disconnect at all?

Re: Bit of a result!

The connection will go down for a few minutes because the engineer has to physically move jumpers from a 20CN DSLAM to a 21CN MSAN. However the router should reconnect automatically after the change.
As to which12am it is, I'd say tonight - unless it's midday tomorrow. Grin

So i guess i was on ADSL2 before ,but on a 20CN profile. What difference will this actually make if anything?
And how will i be able to check if/when it`s actually been done? Smiley

Re: Bit of a result!

I should have looked back over the topic before I posted my previous reply. Since you had a sync speed above 8128kbps you must already be on 21CN. Further, since sync speed was above 12Mbps you must have been connected using the ADSL2+ protocol at that time.
Also uncapping of upstream is not done on 20CN. A higher upload speed is available on 20CN but this is a paid for option called Max Premium.
I think that transfer notice might well be associated with uncapping your line. No physical changes will have been made (nor will be made) to your line, just chalk the message up to the idiosyncrasies of Plusnet's systems. Crazy

Re: Bit of a result!

Line itself is fine, but my profile doesn`t seem to update in my member center if i gain a higher sync (like currently). It`s a pain having to phone up and get someone to manually set it correctly.
Member center is @ 14.3,bt speedtester profile shows @ 14.79 just now (if someone could give it a kick please?) ,but why would my profile be so stubborn to update? Wouldn`t be anything to do with BT records not having yet caught up with the new layout of my line?
Doing a BT wholesale check give me this ... "WBC ADSL 2+ Up to 10.5 -- 7.5 to 13 "  ,before on the old 2 cab setup it was "6.5-8".

Re: Bit of a result!

There should be a 'Delta Report' that runs to update your profile. If it hasn't updated by the time I get in tomorrow, I'll give it a good boot for you Smiley
