Re: Big drop in speed, can anyone help

Have you been disconnecting your router constantley at some point during a certain day or through out the week? If so BT probably has set your line to a lower speed thinking your line cannot handle ur normal speed this is what BT conclude when they see series of line disconnection either by the user or the router maybe being faulty.

Re: Big drop in speed, can anyone help

Hello ashrafmiah93
The router is switched off for around 7 hours at night, but on at all other times - this is because I've seen conflicting reports on the issue of speed/router permanent connection and also the possibility of fire risk. But that's been done since getting broadband and there's been no drop before last week. A puzzling thing is that running the BT Speedtest a couple of times has brought the speed up to 350 KB/s temporarily, then kept it at 250 KB/s for nearly a day.
