Best BT Openreach ADSL faceplate?

Hi chaps,
A BT engineer replaced my master socket last year for a all in BT Openreach socket. My speed went up to nearly 6.7mbps from 5.
Sadly the filter died about 2 months ago. Ordered a replacement off eBay but whilst it all works and looks the same my speed is never more than 5.6mbps now.
I want to keep the Openreach face plate but can anyone recommend a better clip in filter or a link to the official BT ones that may boost my speed again?

Re: Best BT Openreach ADSL faceplate?

The two I've seen recommened are:
ADSLnation one
http://www.adslnation.com/products/xtespec.php
ADSLnation all now part of Tandy UK
Pressac unit from Clarity.it
(possibly Pressac make the genuine branded BTOR units)
(you need the long screws: the NTE5 units take M3's)
http://www.clarity.it/xcart/home.php?cat=262
They work on slightly differing principles too complex to explain in a non-tech forum (even if I could remember them myself!) but do basically the same thing

The new-style VDSL interstitial plate is without doubt the best.  Cool
I "think" that's the one you've chosen.  Undecided http://www.clarity.it/xcart/product.php?productid=16215&cat=262&page=1

@Damian78
Plzz let us know how you get on with the replace filter face plate, if it makes any difference in speed.

Will do. Should be here on Thursday.
Hoping it can return to 6.7mbps 🙂 Doubt it though but only £12. Been recommended to reset my SNR. Its about 3dB now I think.

Ah right. Best to do that instead of asking PN? Can do it at weekend if so

Re: Best BT Openreach ADSL faceplate?

If you are on 21CN and your SNRM is around 3dB, then a reset will not help. It sounds like the current filtered plate was not the same quality as the original. The Pressac one - vDSL/xDSL should solve your problem, but do let use know, posting your full ADSL stats from your modem/router will give the best picture.

Re: Best BT Openreach ADSL faceplate?

Yeah. I am 21CN ADSL2+ I think.
Will post the DSL stats tomorrow then wait for the replacement. This is becoming a very helpful forum 🙂
