Belkin N Series Overheating - SOLVED

For anyone with a Belkin router in the desk mount "toaster" case there seems to be a major design flaw.
Thankfully, it's easily remidied.
My Belkin N600 Play modem/router that was disconnecting after a few days.
I'd always noticed it ran rather hot.
I pointed my non-contact IR thermometer at the slot in the top and to my alarm read 46 deg C!!
It then occured to me that not only was there no fan that there seemed to be no other ventilation apart from the slot on the top.
Solution: Remove the two screws in the base and remove the stand. The whole of the underside is a ventilation grille.
Why they bolted the stand directly on the base to block off the vents is  totally idiotic!!! Well done Belkin  Cheesy
I checked the temperature again and it was a respectable 26 deg C.
Hours later I re-checked it a few times and it never went above 28deg C.
Sorted!  Grin
Only problem now is that you either have to lay it flat on it's side or design your own stand with a gap between the bottom and the stand.
Mine is cable tied to a couple of the spindles on my staircase - not ideal but it's cool!  Cool
