Banded again :(

My line is once again banded at 6656 (for the third time). Could a member of staff please remove the banding and fix the profile to 9dB interleaved on the downstream please? I’d like the upstream interleaving level/target left as is. I believe "fixing" the profile is possible on WBMC/21CN circuits.
The cause of the banding seems to be errored seconds, the last few times the banding has been removed, even at 6dB the line does not resync, but DLM keeps upping the margin until it eventually bands. I’ve concluded that this is just one of those lines that DLM doesn’t get on well with, and a 9dB target seems to give a good balance between errors and throughput (my previous LLU ISP had me on a 9dB interleaved profile, and performance and stability were good).
I'm in a filtered faceplate, (this has been replaced, and I have tried in the test socket with no difference to errored seconds). All electrical equipment unplugged and switched off makes no change, and the voice line is clear. The cause of the errored seconds looks to be external to me, and with no fault there’s no way to get Openreach to try and improve it.
Thanks.

Uptime: 1 days 21:25:28 (n.b. I have maintained a connection for over 3 days and remained banded - this drop was me turning electrical equipment off to ensure it's nothing in my premises causing the ES).

There seems little point in removing banding yet again whilst there is an apparet issue causing the line to be banded.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Agreed, just removing the banding is fruitless. This is why I've asked for a fixed 9db profile. There's nothing in my control that can improve the line quality.

Re: Banded again :(

Few drops last night were me trying various bits and pieces to try and get the ES down. Always powered off for at least 30 mins so DLM won't get too upset.
I've got a few other things to try (not involving the router - more to do with turning off *everything* in the house at the consumer unit) this weekend.
I realise this maybe isn't helping convince DLM to remove banding, so after the weekend will leave connected and leave well alone.
Happy for this to be put on hold for a little while, and we'll see if banding comes off on it's own.
If however - a nice staff member fancies nailing my SNR to a 9dB target (please don't just remove the banding, the profile needs to be fixed to stop this reoccurring) then feel free! I'm happy with the speed and stability at 9dB.
Thanks Smiley
Edit: just to clarify, the line has not lost sync once without my intervention.

Re: Banded again :(

Swapped over to a Netgear DG834v4 (Broadcom based one!) last night:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6655 kbps 1148 kbps
Line Attenuation 41.0 db 20.5 db
Noise Margin 12.8 db 5.8 db
Total time = 12 hours 53 min 53 sec
SF  = 2868818
CRC = 45
LOS = 0
LOF = 0
ES  = 34
Looks about the same as the Plusnet 2704n, so will leave this as is for the next few weeks now.
I'd still like a fixed 9db target on the DS, as I had with my previous ISP (and which I'm happy with for the day or so that DLM leaves me with that), so if that can be arranged that'd be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Re: Banded again :(

4.5 days later, still banded.
Please please please could a PlusNet rep set this to be fixed to 9db downstream, and leave upstream as is? As per https://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,142461.msg1256954.html#msg1256954 - this should be possible, and I'm happy with the speed/stability at this rate.

Hmm, no change. Should I try a resync?

Re: Banded again :(

Still at 6656, tried a reboot last night also, no change. Could you take another look please?
Thanks,

Re: Banded again :(

Tried another resync today (waiting 30 mins before powering back on), still 6656. The other drops were just me causing PPP drops (not sync drops!), so are not instability!

Re: Banded again :(

The tool we use isn't liking it for some reason.
I'll try going through it a different way.

Re: Banded again :(

Just wanted to pop by and say a quick thank you to all the PN staff who've helped with this. It's been over a week now and things are still looking good. No resyncs, and errored seconds aren't impacting throughput in any way.
Appreciate all the help with this. Hopefully I won't need it again!
