Bad Upload Performance

Evening all,
I moved to a new house in November, and have been meaning to bring this up since then.
I moved from my old house which admittedly was next door to the exchange. I was getting this:

Moved to a new place which is about 1km from (the same) exchange, and I'm now getting this:

I'm fine with the download performance, but I am fairly disappointed with the upload performance. Is there anything PN Staff can do to improve my situation?

Here's my router stats (router is plugged into master socket, and my pc is hardwired):

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Bad Upload Performance

You have been provided on a capped upstream rate. There should be no problem getting it uncapped, either raise a ticket, or just wait and one of the DC team will pick this up in the morning.

Re: Bad Upload Performance

Sorry to be an amateur, but how do I raise a ticket?
Also, more info that may be relevant. Does this mean that once I uncap I will get 756 up?

Rather than taking you through the convoluted steps - just go to here https://www.plus.net/wizard/?p=wizard&page=22883&wizard_id=38

With attainable rates of 21332Kbps/756Kbps I would have thought you should be getting a lot more (both up and down stream) than the speed test results of 9.50Mbps/330Kbps
Have you tried plugging your "Modem router" into your TEST socket, to see what your line is capable of ?,
If it has been like this since November then it might take a few days for your "Current line speed" to catch up !

Re: Bad Upload Performance

Pleased to say that my upload performance is much better now thanks to you guys:

However, if you say I could be getting even better then I would like to investigate this.
I will now attempt to plug my router into the test socket. Should I then do another speed test?
Cheers.
If of any relevance, this is what the 'Current Line Speed' page says:

So I just looked, and there is no test socket?  Shocked

Re: Bad Upload Performance

Have you considered disconnecting the 'bell' wire (solid orange / terminal 3)?
I got about another 2MB of download speed just by doing that...

Re: Bad Upload Performance

Is it just a case of PN updating my profile?
Or do I need to do something my end to get my speeds as high as they should be?
I will look into disconnecting the bell wire.

Re: Bad Upload Performance

Hi bomster,
Looks like our profile and the one on BTs side are both set to 16000 so that won't be slowing it. What does a BT speed test (http://speedtester.btwholesale.com) show for your line?

Re: Bad Upload Performance

So does this imply that it's a hardware problem my end?
