Backup MX Mail Servers

I have a couple of domains registered through telivo, and the DNS services hosted else where, I currently have the mx records pointing to my own mail server. However should it ever go off, i am stuffed. Is it ok to use the plusnet backup mx servers the same as I have for my plusnet domain name.

Re: Backup MX Mail Servers

You'll have to get the domain hosted on your account otherwise the email servers will not know what to do with emails that arrive and will bounce them.

Re: Backup MX Mail Servers

The problem with PN MX backup is that you have to use the finger commend. I use http://www.dnsmadeeasy.com/s0306/prod/mailbk.html at $12.95 per year

Re: Backup MX Mail Servers

It looks like he's already using finger for the plusnet domain name.
