BTw to change ip profile rate next year

One of my mate who work for BTwholesale had told me they are secret to roll out all 21CN of new ip profile rate to be changing from 88.2% to 94.2% once all the 20CN is phased out.
Can plusnet please confirm if this is true ? If yes, we will benefit extra 1 Meg speed  which it good news for all of us on ADSL2+.
Current 17499K with 88.2% = 15.4Mb
Future 17499K with 94.2% = 16.4Mb

Not much of a secret any more then if they're right Wink
We've not been briefed about anything to that effect.

Re: BTw to change ip profile rate next year

It look like 94.2% probably confuse with FTTC only ?

Probably not.
BT's IP Profiles for FTTC are already at 96.79% of sync speed, so it looks promising for ADSL2+.

I'd not get too excited unless we can confirm anything from our side about this. Smiley

Re: BTw to change ip profile rate next year

Given that 20CN isn't being withdrawn, it could be true but only likely never to happen Wink

Re: BTw to change ip profile rate next year

I suspect the OP is confused by the fact that 20CN is being withdrawn on exchanges with 21CN and overlooking the fact that for some small exchanges there are no plans to upgrade them to 21CN.

Re: BTw to change ip profile rate next year

My mate who work for BT Wholesale say that 10% will remain 2 Megabits guarantee by 2015 (fixed rated 2Meg) when BT pulled the plug off old 20CN and BT are still working hard to get 99% of UK get 21CN by 2015.

Re: BTw to change ip profile rate next year

That's 99% of premises which will still leave a lot of small 20CN exchanges!
According to SamKnows there are 2342 21CN ADSL2+ exchanges out of 5507 exchanges with ADSL Max so there's a very long way to go - they are roughly half way at present.
