hi, I'm thinking of going back to XP from Vista and duel booting rather than getting rid of Vista altogether, bit sick of the niggling faults with it. Anyway would i need a driver for my BT voyager 210 router currently connected via Ethernet.

No.
Only USB based connections require a driver.
