I have replaced the Plusnet TG582 router with a BT Homehub 5 router and it has resulted in a higher download/upload speed.
But it seems that there is no way to upgrade the firmware on the router.
Am I missing something?
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Why do you want to upgrade it?
What version of firmware is it running?
It will get upgraded if its connected to BT's service, not necessarily if connected to another ISP.
As per the old saying, if it's not broke!

Hi rashmipatel,
welcome to the forum. Interesting that the HH5 is giving a better sync speed than the 582n. Is it a type A or B? There's someone else recently posted with a Type A that hasn't upgraded. It is connecting to the TR069 servers though.
Have a look at your Event Log for CWMP entries, narrow the Category to TR069 if need be.
Also, out of curiosity, what firmware version is the TG582n?
@Mustrum,
Is it the case that most users on Plusnet are finding a similar situation, do you know if that's definite, or is it a bit of wet finger in the air?
It's not something I've bothered to look into before.

I've got the same problem with my HH5 (Type B) and am stuck on Software version v0.07.01.0235-BT | Last updated [Unknown]
This is the extract from my logs:
08:15:14, 06 Nov. CWMP: session completed successfully
08:15:14, 06 Nov. CWMP: HDM socket opened failed.
08:15:14, 06 Nov. CWMP: Server URL: https://pbthdm.x.x.x; Connecting as user: ACS username
08:15:13, 06 Nov. CWMP: Session start now, server: pbthdm.x.x.x, Event code:
08:15:13, 06 Nov. CWMP: Initializing transaction for event code 4 VALUE CHANGE
08:13:32, 06 Nov. CWMP: session completed successfully
08:13:32, 06 Nov. CWMP: HDM socket opened failed.
08:13:31, 06 Nov. CWMP: Server URL: https://pbthdm.x.x.x; Connecting as user: ACS username
08:13:31, 06 Nov. CWMP: Session start now, server: pbthdm.x.x.x, Event code:
08:13:30, 06 Nov. CWMP: Initializing transaction for event code 4 VALUE CHANGE
The failure's are something, Im just not familiar with TR69 to understand what it's doing.
Thanks
Sloth
