Re: BT HUB 5

Why don't Plusnet provided their own Plusnet Home Hub with inbuilt VDSL2 Modem (I do hope Plusnet Home Hub will be a broadcom chipset on it)?

Re: BT HUB 5

andy265, did you try doing a factory reset?

Re: BT HUB 5

I did a few times, didn't seem to make any difference. It seems to reboot itself for a reason as the event logs say something like 'rebooting in 5 seconds' every time.

I had exactly the same issue. Switched to fibre, HH5 type A updated the firmware then it started rebooting all the time.
Seems to be a common issue and the the suggested solution was to reset to factory defaults - which I did and it seemed to clear the issue.
However using the Openreach modem with the HH5 as a router is no real issue provided you have enough plugs.

Fairly confident you'll see this happen in the not-too-distant future Wink

Re: BT HUB 5

Do I have to buy the bt home hub 4r version rather than just the 4? What is the difference?

I'll give it another go at the weekend, it wasn't plugged into the phone line when I reset it, I'll try when it is in case that makes a difference.

nooooooooo.. dont say that.  I personally dont like the HHs.  Yeah the wireless may be ok.. but to me the DSL chipset performance is far more important.    People seem to judge a router on its wi-fi capabilities rather than its DSL capabilities.
Its easy to add another wifi AP.. its not so easy to keep the DSL line stable.
Aside from the fact that the HH is locked down so you cant do stuff all.  Id rather have a TG582n than a HH  Cheesy

Re: BT HUB 5

DSL  phys are  good on  HH5.
The trouble comes from the "delightful" Jungo firmware

I just hope that whichever router they provide is supported by Routerstats as that is a real benefit for troubleshooting

Re: BT HUB 5

Very good call Jim,
Knowing the people involved, I'm sure this will have been taken into consideration but just to make sure I'll ping an email over to the team involved and make sure the matter has been brought to their attention.
