Re: BRAS Profiles and Current loss of connection

Oops, didn't mean to be quite so vague.
When I said poor communication I was really talking about the difference between "fault" and "that's normal".  I actually think you guys have done a great job in spotting things like the banded profiles and capped uploads.
During my time on the trial I've had the works:
DLM freaking out and sticking my SNR to 25dB - CHECK
Unexpected loss of sync followed by 172.x.x.x IP Address - CHECK
Sync UP, PPP DOWN for over a day - CHECK
Random sync speed changes - CHECK
Regular and unexplained DLM fiddling - CHECK
Having my sync temporarily reduced to 500kbps then my IP Profile sticking at almost dial-up speeds for an entire weekend - CHECK
The problem is, I no longer know what I should be reporting and what I shouldn't.  If I lose sync at midnight for 30 mins is that a fault or some BT tinkerer doing maintenance without telling anyone? If my SNR jumps 3dB do I hit speed dial to support or sit it out until the DLM changes it back (and if so, how long should I wait before it becomes a fault?)?
It would be great if we could get more warning of disruption to service as well as feedback after our faults are fixed to so that we know that you (or BT) have understood what went wrong.

Re: BRAS Profiles and Current loss of connection

Ultimately, if you're seeing a loss in connection, please let us know so that we can try and get things fixed for you.
If I can supply any information, then I will.
FYI - The massive SNR hike, was probably a banded profile.

No - It's completely different as it's on WBC/WBMC.
Not a "regular" exchange contention issue.

Sorry James - just realised I had posted an old reference.
I have deleted the post.

Re: BRAS Profiles and Current loss of connection

Seems I missed quite a bit in the last few days  Smiley
James, just to give you an update, my  broadband is now working OK but I am still stuck at the 5Mbs. Can someone plese revert my profile back to what it was?
I restarted my router already at least once since Monday.
Stuck at such 'low' speeds essentially means tat come 8pm you're lucky if you get 1-2Mbs. This is really a disgrace to the UK broadband industry, not PlusNet. Other countries out there are able to maintain the speed steady fast all day! Why not the UK?
Rant over....
Attached my router stats by the way if they are any use to anybody.
Also attached this morning's speed test after a recent restart of the router.

Thanks James!

Re: BRAS Profiles and Current loss of connection

@michaelm, - what's your PN profile speed and your BRAS profile speed? (the one you get from the BT speedtester)?

5500Kbps as mentioned earlier in this thread.
