I support a friend who has an office running on PN (userid = 'powellandoliver'), he normally gets a healthy 4.6K sync (IP profile currently 3.5), he has a very strange fault. In the last week he's been experiencing poor download speeds (upload seems to be OK at 0.38m), becoming so bad as the day goes on that by 1800 that it's unusable. I've run the usual tests: - BT wholesale checker (0.01 download, 0.38 upload, 51.25ms ping) - different modem (Plusnet Thomson with same results) - the master socket has an integrated ADSL faceplate, so unable to change/test filter - No phone noise/crackling, snr seems normal (5.9dB) - tried manually altering DNS to google servers (184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11) seems to improve performance for a few minutes. I tried to enter the fault on the PN member system but it asks questions that make no sense (the service does not 'drop', it just stops). Plus it keeps timing out What other tests/checks should I be doing next? TIA Adam
Just to add, the modem is still 'connected' at the point where the BB has crawled to a stop - the modem still shows as connected, so it's not actually a drop. Was OK today until around 4pm, then quickly became useless.
