Hi all,
Advice please:
Our broadband resync's when the phone is in use, not when it rings but when you are on a call.
This doesn't happen every call though.
It appeared to start after our phone line was replaced from the master socket to the junction under the pavement by BT when builders accidentally cut it.
At the time the BT Engineer replaced my ADSLNation filtered faceplate with a BT filtered faceplate.
I have also tried my ADSLNation faceplate back on there but with no improvement.
Current stats just after a resync and after I restarted the Netgear DG834GT (DGTeam firmware)
System Up Time 00:58:34
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18415 kbps 1171 kbps
Line Attenuation 18.0 db 8.2 db
Noise Margin 5.4 db 5.9 db
Would connecting to the test socket help in this situation?
Purchasing another filtered faceplate?
Increasing the SNR?
Any other ideas please?

Hi, first impression is that you may have some dodgy wiring somewhere?
Try connecting your router to the test socket directly and see if the problem persists..

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the reply.
The router is connected to the master socket, sorry should have mentioned that.
Although I still could try the test socket.
I've also replaced the telephone with a corded one.

Have you got other extensions wired off of the master socket? If so,have you got anything connected to the extensions ( and are they filtered)? If so, deffo worth trying the test socket.
I've had to disconnect my upstairs extension physically at the back of the master socket because it was causing a similar sort of intermittent fault fairly recently - I assume the external wiring to the bedroom is damaged somewhere, only solution was to disconnect (or have the extension wiring completely replaced!)

Hi David
No other extensions or phone points at all just the master socket.

Is the phone quiet when you try the quiet line test (dial 17070, option 2)?

have you changed the line filters ?
last time someone damaged my phone cable it damaged the line filters (feed back or some such)
sync dropping when phone rings is a typical example of filter not working, some phone units cause more than normal interference levels and you need to use 2 filters
personally I have a single phone socket with a push fit doubler hanging out of one adsl filter with 2 more adsl filters plugged into the back of the doubler one for a plug in extension, and one side that's shared by the phone and modem, then another filter at the far end of the extension (which is used purely for the sky box)
all that just to eliminate line dropping issues which only started after my single filter was replaced by a pre filtered face plate .....

just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

Hi, apologies if it's not but it looks like a connection log would be useful at this point:
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image13867670393532.png"/>
Definitely seeing some drops there, I know you've only recently had a dropping connection fault closed but if it's still doing that in the master socket with all phones removed it'd definitely be best to get one raised.

Hello Matt,
Yes I have seen some disconnections recently. When I have noticed them I have restarted the router as it always seems to put me on a 6.8db SNR this then obviously leads to a lower downstream and strangely upstream speed.
A router restart and it's back to how it was?? - could this be the DLM?
As you say I recently had a fault call closed because increasing my SNR to 6db gave me a stable line, well a couple of weeks at a time without a resync anyway.
The disconnections started Friday night.
Very frustrating as I'm a gamer and on my line I really dont want interleaved on.
