Apple and Technicolour (Technicolour Router and Apple Sharing on home network)

Hi I have plusnet fibre with the plusnet Technicolour router.
However, many Apple sharing services stopped worked as expected, the shared printers could not be found, the computers could not share screens or DVD drives, and file sharing was limited and slow.
Not only that, but I also have a SLINGBOX to share TV and video around the house and the Technicolour router significantly slowed the transfer rate, resulting in a poor picture and sound.
The antidote to to this was simply to REMOVE the Technicolour router, and replace it with an Apple Airport router - I used my old one - an Airport Extreme.    This is connected directly to the BT fibre box.
The Technicolour is NOT compatible with many Apple sharing services.    Hope this is helpful to any plusNet Fibre customers who use Apple computers at home.
