Hi all
I'm using the standard Plusnet Technicolor 582n modem/router and its doing a fine job.
It's at least as good, if not slightly better, connection wise, than my Netgear was using the same line.
I will keep the Netgear as a spare but would appreciate any set up comments/tips just in case I need to use it at some stage.
Thanks for your help.

I'm currently running DG834GT+DGTeam firmware.
The (nearly) unique advantage of this router+firmware is that if you are not sync'ing at the maximum rate, then you have the target SNR override facility to push the sync rate higher than could be achieved with other devices.

Hi purleigh
Yes and the UI is much better, or maybe I just got use to.
ATM, don't fill the need to tweak SNR as all is working fine.
Just wondered if it's just a matter of disconnecting the Technicolor and connecting the Netgear (with Plusnet settings) or would I need to wait 15 minutes, as needed when first connecting theTechnicolor?
I would also like to avoid 'line re-training' if possible.

Just to be on the safe side, I drop the PPP session from the UI first, then de-power, if swapping routers.
Wait 10 mins, then connect new router.
There certainly won't be any retraining just through changing a router.

Hi 4C
That's just what I was looking for.
Will dropping the PPP session mean a new IP address and/or gateway?
The Netgear does not 'do' IPV6, afaik, but not sure how far off that is.
Thanks for your help.

Yes to both.

Er, no idea on both counts.
