Anyone got slow browsing again?

It was fine for a few days. I've just done a speed test and got over 3.5mb, but it seems like browsing is taking an age.  At least pages on the likes of FB, Ebay, BBC etc (all the usual suspects) take upto a minute to load.  Roll_eyes
Is it just me this time? Or are we having issues with the akamai hosted stuff again?

Re: Anyone got slow browsing again?

Yes, I noticed it starting to slow down from about 3.30 this afternoon. It's not as bad as it has been lately, but I think the Akamai throttling is more noticeable than it has been for a few days. eBay/BBC News/Guardian all slow.

Re: Anyone got slow browsing again?

Yeah, after all the crap over the past month I thought it had finally been sorted.  Had normal speeds again for the past few days, yet today the speed is absolutely dire again.  Websites are taking ages to load and timing out, images aren't displaying and the download speed is shit!

Re: Anyone got slow browsing again?

Guys
What gateway are you using http://usertools.plus.net/@gateway/
I'm using You are currently connected to the "City Lifeline, Juniper 11" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pcl-ag04. and not experiencing any issues at all.
Web pages loading fine, Streaming running well and images loading fine. There was also a post earlier reporting issues with images loading so I'm interested to see if there is an isolated issue?

Re: Anyone got slow browsing again?

FB taking around 20secs from clicking a link.
ebay taking around 35 secs to load a search for  "windows xp"
BBC not 'too' bat at 15 secs to load home page.
You are currently connected to the "Telehouse North, Juniper 2" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as ptn-ag2
A tracert to bbc.co.uk seems to come back ok, at around 70ms.
A tracert to facebook.com comes back at.
Tracing route to facebook.com [69.63.187.19]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
 1     4 ms     4 ms     1 ms  192.168.0.1
 2    60 ms    50 ms    48 ms  lo0-plusnet.ptn-ag2.plus.net [195.166.128.5

10   142 ms   147 ms   145 ms  www-13-08-ash1.facebook.com [69.63.187.19]
In comparison, www.ffoc.co.uk hosted in Germany, comes back in a couple fo seconds.

We've made some additional changes to the network config today, all being well you should be seeing improved performance this evening. We know there is still more to do and really do appreciate your patience whilst we get this sorted.
