Hi there,
Since the start of august my lovely fast broadband has been running at a crippling pace. (0.50mbps - 1.30mbps). After countless calls to plusnet, 4 new filters, 4 new cables, 2 routers, one waste of time bt engineer, and more calls to support. I am informed the actual cause is my profile has been banded down.
The helpful support agent said he would get it reset, and i should be up and running within 24hours. Fantastic i thought... That was until 24hrs had gone past and nothing had changed.
On the phone i went once more... To which time i was told 48hours.
Ok, i was a little annoyed but technology doesn't always conform to deadlines. So i let it go without much fuss.
As of today i am 6 days past the initial reset window. With still no sign of any improvement. I spoke to bt and they talked my through the Wholesale speed test. And these were the results.
I've not had any joy getting any answers though plusnet. Does anyone know if these tests are displaying what i think they are?.. And the cause of my slow down is due plusnet themselves and not the line?.
This is what bt implied is shown, from the test that changed the DSL username.
If anyone has been through this and gotten it fixed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Plusnet are quick to send me my bill this month... So it seems that part of their systems is working how it should lol

Funny story. No sooner had i pressed send on that post. I received a text message from somebody in support.
"Thank you for contacting us and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
I can advise that although the speed banding had been removed, the speed profile had not been updated from 2mbps.
I have now manually updated this profile to 17.5mbps and you should notice this increase within the next 2 hours.
If not, a quick power down of the router should pick that new profile up. "
And this time the results speak for themselves.
<a href="http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2908212594"><img src="http://www.speedtest.net/result/2908212594.png" /></a>
So i guess the moral of the story is.. posting on the forum can get a quicker result than using the fault report. Or its just a coincidence.

I doubt very much that there is any connection between posting on the forum and the problem being fixed. It's just coincidence. However glad to hear the problem has been fixed.
