Something happened on the 20/21st November. No change this end in equipment, had the same router for about 2 years. All cabled up, no trojans - swept the PCs for viruses/trojans etc.
My router is saying: 448 Kbps Upstream, 1152 Kbps Downstream - I think the Downstream had jumped to around the 1450 mark with the initial jump in the speed tests on the 20th November, but I can't remember. Any clues?

If you see my other reply to your other post, I have suggested that you reboot your router as I feel that this should result in your seeing improved speeds.

you should be back upto 1000Kbps now, so if you give your router a reboot, speeds should be back up.

Yup, thanks, it's back up What's happening with it, is it something I can stop happening?

It was just a little sync blip, which does happen with Max every so often.
You can always try changing filters and ensuring that you're connected to your master socket via a filter, there isn't really that much else you can do.

Your profile is currently set to 750Kbps in line with your synchronisation speed. I've treated things slightly at this end, so if you reboot your router, you should notice a slight improvement.

Sometime this year we'll be swapping our plus.net account to another number in the house (and therefore line) so maybe that will be better - it's a bit newer than the current one but it has no built-in filter so maybe I can experiment with the filters then.

If you hold onto that sync speed, then you should go back onto the 1Mbps profile. You'll have had a recent blip, causing the sync speed to drop hence the change in profile.
