Annex M on Plusnet

Hello all
i'm in the process of moving my broadband and phone service to PlusNet (another ex Be customer), my activation date is on the 11th and once it goes live I want to get a static IP (which I know I can purchase in the Add Ons section and also have my line changed to Annex M. I have been told that I should be able to request this once the line is live but I cant find where I should do this. I have read that there is an additional extra charge for this which im happy to pay. can anyone please advise how I go about doing this as the sales person I spoke with when ordering wasn't very sure what I was asking for?
many thanks

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

I was under the impression that Annex M was also only available on a business line - I may be wrong but it is another "gotcha" if you're signing up for a residential service if so.
*Edit - ignore me - not sure why I though the above unless it was changed just before I joined but it appears it is on both residential and business

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

We know they are charged fr it but why are they charged for it when it is freely available via other ISP's by default and they do not have to request it either Sad

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

It's also totally unrealistic pricing when you compare it to FTTC.  Cry

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

Exactly
And to charge for a free service that is being supplied elsewhere is a rip-off
@OldJim
My old ISP had Annex-M by default and not once charged for the privilege of using it

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

It's reallynot too dis-similar to some ISP's including Max Premium to circuits on 20CN. With other providers the basic rate for broadband would likely be higher which would cover the cost of Annex M.
We offer is separately so you have the choice of having the cheapest package available or having Annex M as an add on.

Re: Annex M on Plusnet

@TORPC
If it was on by default how did they decide who should get it as the effect of Annex M on downstream speeds can be a disaster
Out of interest - who were you with
