Annex M for residential users

Hi,
With Fibre not available in my area until sometime until 2015, I'm looking for ways to increase my upload speed. I have read that Plusnet offers increased upload speeds up to 2.5Mb/s for an additional charge of £10 per month, I gave them a call and they seemed unsure about it and didn't really know what they were doing.
I have seen posts dating back to 2011/12 with Plusnet staff stating that Annex M would be made available to residential customers so I am hopeful that it is now available in 2014. From the looks of their webpage it can be done but I'm hoping someone could help me.
Thanks

Re: Annex M for residential users

Hi timsumatt,
I've been and had a chat with the Products and Propositions Team and they are going to get back to me on this. Leave this with me and we'll post back once we have further information.
It's not so much a blocker that we don't want to provide Annex M as such, it's more about whether there is an internal process for our Support Teams to support the product as well it working on Residential Accounts, as historically, it's been a product specifically for Business Accounts.

Re: Annex M for residential users

Unfortunately Annex M isn't a product that we're offering our Residential customers at this time, however, this isn't to say that this won't change in the future.

Re: Annex M for residential users

Disappointing news. Is there any other method to get a faster upload speed?

Unfortunately there isn't unless Fibre is available.
I've also dropped you a PM.

Re: Annex M for residential users

surely if you were willing to pay an extra £10pm for annex M then upgrading to fibre would be a no brainer.

Read the OP's message again  Roll_eyes
Moving to a provider that does offer Annexe M may be an option of course...

Then why does http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/broadband_speeds.shtml say it is available to residential users?

Re: Annex M for residential users

Actually it does. The dagger applies to both business AND residential ADSL and says it is available on request.

Re: Annex M for residential users

That was my thinking exactly. Looked to me like it would be available.
In the end it is extra business for them.

Re: Annex M for residential users

Dependant on your contract, can't you just pay for business broadband?
From what I see on the website the price isn't much more.
