Amazon.co.uk sign in problem

At amazon.co.uk, when I click "proceed to checkout" I put in my login details, click "Sign In to Secure Server", and I get a browser error page. This has been happening since I started trying last night. It happens on three different computers, Firefox and Chrome, Win 7 and Win XP. But as soon as I used PuTTY to tunnel via a shell account the problem went away and I have placed my order. Any advice?
Edit: Come to think of it, for weeks I have seen some mildly erratic behaviour when logged in and browsing IMDB message boards, which I believe is owned by amazon. Sometimes viewing a new post will give an error and ill have to refresh a few times. Sometimes I get weird logouts for no reason.

Re: Amazon.co.uk sign in problem

This sounds like a router issue to me, what's your set-up like?
PS firewalls and anti-virus are often culprits of these kind of issues (especially the former in my opinion) I'd eliminate these too, especially if each machine has the same software installed...

Re: Amazon.co.uk sign in problem

No idea what I had done but resetting router defaults fixed it. Many thanks.
