Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

HI Guys,
We're changing the 37000 profile this afternoon so it will allow for the full speed to come through, so no need to change anyone to the 20000 profile as it will happen automatically. Also, we're changing the browsing rate limit on fibre to line speed between 8pm-11pm rather than the previous 20Mbps.

Well I'm glad to have been instrumental in speeding up everyone's FTTC!

Changes have been made. Anyone on the 37000 profile will need to disconnect and reconnect for the change to take effect.

Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

What about people on the "20Mbps" profile?  Should we just carry on regardless Dave?
Also - re my change this morning to that, I'm pleased to report that a couple of speed tests since have shown as close as 0.01Mbps to my best ever IDNet result.  That means just as good.

Like Dave said, and I should have probably mentioned, it will need a reboot to take effect Smiley

Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

Just for clarification.
Is it just just necessary to disconnect using the router disconnect feature in router status or is a power cycle of the router and modem required to pick up the new profile settings?
Thanks

Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

Almost certainly a router disconnect and reconenct will work as that starts a new PPP session. It will also change your IP address.

Still getting 70 down and 16 up at 9pm, so thanks a lot!

Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

Yup - I can confirm that the evening speed dips have disappeared here too. Over the last 2 weeks they'd dropped back to being only at in the 8-10pm slot, but even that disappeared tonight.

I've just done a disconnect / reconnect on my router (Netgear WNR1000v3) this morning with the following pre and post results;
Before

After

Magic!

Re: Am I "suffering" the missing 2.5 Mbps?

Just needs to re-establish the PPP session so no need to resync/reboot the BT modem. We'll leave those of you on the 20Mbps profile where you are for the time being and look at whether we need to change them later.
