Always use the same IP address

I've got a Raspberry Pi setup and attached using Ethernet to my Technicolor TG582n FTTC Router.
I've got the 'Always use the same IP address' option ticked in the router settings, however this setting only seems to last for 2-3 days before a new IP address is assigned.
The same thing happened when it was using a wireless adaptor, so I tried using Ethernet to see if that helped, but it hasn't.
Any ideas?

Re: Always use the same IP address

Nope, it's related to the router giving out DHCP addresses.

Re: Always use the same IP address

I too have a raspberry pi set to keep the same ip address and even on restart of the router it has kept it as have my other devices.

Re: Always use the same IP address

The router uses the MAC address on the ethernet card as an identifier.
So you need to make a connection and tell it that this MAC address retains the same connection.
