Hello all,
FTTC has finally arrived in surburban LIverpool and I am signed up to switch from my previous generation Plusnet's ADSL service to its shiny FTTC.
I have an existing dual WAN Draytek router ie non ADSL, that I use with various modems to run two internet feeds.
I can of course (with a bit of messing around) configure the Plusnet supplied Fibre Router to sit in front of my Dual WAN router, but I would prefer to use a modem.
BT used to supply then with their installs.
Additionally I would like to be able to monitor the actual line stats via any modem (ie have access to)
Any suggestions for third party products etc - dont mind flashing firmware provided it is reasonably straight forward.
Cheers
Alan

With FTTC you get a modem and a router, so you should be fine just to plug your Draytek into the modem.
The PN supplied router isn't an all in one, that's only the BT HomeHub5

Doh - that will teach me to jump to conclusions.
Thanks that is good news - does anyone know if it is it readily "flashable" or possibly safer to source one already done from Flebay ?

Quote from: dragon306 BT used to supply then with their installs.
Plusnet still use the OpenReach install. You will get an OpenReach supplied modem and a Plusnet supplied router. Which of the two OpenReach modems you get is pot luck.

Pot luck? I thought it was determined by the equipment in the CAB, i.e. ECI modem for ECI cab kit.

I've seen a post somewhere that suggests that may not still be the case.

It changed some time last year.
Initially, they were being match to the DSLAM. Now, it's whatever the engineer has in his van.
