Ask your dad to raise a ticket so the CSC can look into this

Re: Already upgrade 8mbps but still 2mbps....

Did your dad raise a ticket to opt-in to or request the upgrade to 8Mbs (ADSL Max) or did he just select an up to 8Mbs package.
If the latter, changing your package does not automatically increase your speed from a fixed speed product, unless you ask for it.
Can you get your dad to post the results from  www.speedtester.bt.com as the IP profile will tell you alot.
Also posting the routers line stats will help.
Finally raise a ticket on the account to get CS to check the set-up.

Already upgrade, change from 2mbps to up to 8mbps last few months ago. so still 2mbps..not 8mbps.  Undecided

Hi Dunc,
Is your Dad a PlusNet customer?
If he is, I need to know his username. Then I can help Smiley  If he isn't, there not a lot I or we as a forum can do, other than to offer advice.

Re: Already upgrade 8mbps but still 2mbps....

That looks as though he may still be on the fixed 2MB package - when you upgrade to BBYW with 8GB included your speed is not automatically upgraded - the 8GB is the allowance not the speed. As Peter has said twice in this thread already, get him to run the BT speedtest www.speedtester.bt.com and post back with the full results - they are totally different for fixed speeds and the up to 8MB variable.
Also can you confirm that he has asked for a speed upgrade by submitting a request from the option on this page: http://max.plus.net/
