and the current result from another test (attached) is
download 0mbps!!!!
upload 0.28mbps
but the BT speed test on the other hand says differently! and I disagree as my computer is almost at a standstill!!
Download Speed
5533 Kbps
0 Kbps 7150 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5533 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 2000-7150 Kbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 6000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 17.66:22.68:59.66 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
I was advised to plug the modem router into the test socket. I left it there for 3 days. No one got back to me to tell me what to do after that so I took it back out and put it into the 'normal' socket. I don't know if I did the right thing or the wrong thing because they won't reply to me, or tell me how to fix the speed
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Some one will be looking into it; I'm sure if it's something widespread

believe it linked to This
(Basically you may have the wrong traffic management profile applied - log into your router and disconnect, then connect (dont reboot, you may ruin your sync speed) - it may cure the problem)
From what i can tell - a PN member of staff has identified the problem and is working on it

Ironically, I noticed and messaged a friend who is on shift, and after me going through speed tests, trace routes, pings, restarting... etc, my friend said "Wait, we've got a few people calling in with speed" so he was very smart and got it all together, so It's been acknowledged

Looks like we've already got some one who's found the problem and is working on it
Anyone else find that weirdly iPlayer works but not any other streaming (Youtube, etc)

Around 20:50 the London Internet Exchange lost 450GBps of connecitivity for around 10 minutes. The London Internet Exchange is responsible for the majority of the UK's network connecitivity including broadband connections so it is possible that if your ISP travels through LINX you may have had trouble accessing the network for around 10 minutes however this would have affected the majority of the UK and would have also prevented other online services from working such as Xbox Live, BBC News, On Demand TV etc. Unfortunatley as this issue was with LINX and not in [our] network there was nothing we or your broadband provider would have been able to control or prevent the problem.
