I thought, “leave well alone and all may recover”, but one afternoon there was, supposedly a bout of noise, since when the router has seemingly dropped out and resynced. In this the interleave depth reported has run through and around every value from 32 to 256; it seems to have no idea where it should be.
Not much after the noise event and the burgeoning of CRCs and Errored Seconds workmen appeared, by whom I was informed that parts of the electrical supply apparatus serving our estate were being replaced as complaints had been received. I knew that was to happen at some time, but the apparatus had never interfered with my connection for more than a year, if not longer.
I’ve attached a PDF of average error rates, where they have been exceptional.
I wish to exclude the possibility that something other than noise (e.g. REIN), so can you please tell me, what you see from your end (hopefully to cover the period before my departure (18/8) to now? Has, perhaps, my router been damaged, or my line not been able to recover from the events?
Have also used corded phone and there is no noise. Noise margins seem to act as expected, save that on one or two occasions upstream has dipped by as much as 6 dB and errtically recovered within a few minutes. Downsteam seems a little odd as it tends to be ~7.0 dB.

I can't see any issues on your line at the moment that has caused the errors, your line has been improved but the DLM has applied a profile to you rline of 3Mb/s - 6Mb/s.
A log or the majority of your connection is below.

Testing you line now shows your line as performing well with few errors, it's just the DLM profile that may be restricting your speeds a little.
It may be worth placing a SNR reset on your line to remove this. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Chris! Thanks for replying so soon.
Oh! I forgot to mention that the upstream sync has also been strangely variable, It has ranged 424, 65x to 888. and stations between.
Probably no more relevant than what was posted before, a mix of ramble and useless detail.
As to a reset, if all told you think it safe, please go ahead.

There were about three events where the upstream SNR dropped below its average 7.2 dB to ~1 dB, but graph is not available.
ISTM the problem lies with upstream. I shall re-try a QLT with the help of someone of better hearing. After that I suppose it’s the test socket routine, to the joy of SWMBO, but given the intermittence of events I do wonder how effective that might be.
Any further comments are welcome.

Ideally you need to plug into the test socket when you can to progress/diagnose this.

I had discounted phone problems. However this afternoon the upstream SNR dropped substantially about the time and duration of wife's call to my son, but not, I think exactly. Silly question may be, but when would interference be the most intense; from commencement of dialling to disconnect, or whilst actual call is in progress? I also had this month's BT bill and sometimes SNR is reduced when calling out, but not so much and not always. ould the phone have an intermittent fault?

In fact since ca.12/10 my snyc has increased to ~7000 kbps on 6dB target SNR, and further to a little over 8000 kbps on 3dB target, all at 47.5 attenuation.
So ATM it's looking good; at least to me!
