Re: Ah FEC! XD

Hi there,
You've got interleaving on but while the FEC errors do look high bear in mind the connection has been live for 7 days so it's not too bad. Having said that if we did turn interleaving off it might improve the ping times but you'd possibly lose a bit of speed. There's also a risk that (given you're on ADSL2+) the line might become a bit unstable.
It should be fine given the values posted and we can always turn it back on if it doesn't work?

Re: Ah FEC! XD

If you think it will improve my ping times then please go ahead and do what is neccessary
note:as long as it's easily reversible if things go awry.....

Re: Ah FEC! XD

Just realised I can do it myself.
Thanks Matt but no action neccessary from you now. May call on you to turn it back on though depending on how it goes (¬_¬)

Re: Ah FEC! XD

Of course, no worries - let me know if it does need turning back on and I'll get it sorted for you, though I hope it works well with it off Smiley

Re: Ah FEC! XD

Sorry Matt it seems my attempt to turn interleaving off has failed. When I click "Turn Interleaving Off"
It throws an error, please could you take a look?
Thanks

Re: Ah FEC! XD

There's a ticket on your account from about 6pm last night saying the order had been received, has interleaving not been removed? I suspect the error is showing because the system already thinks interleaving is off based on that ticket.

Re: Ah FEC! XD

I'd assumed that if the option to turn it off is still there and the page says "Your Interleaving Status:ON" then it is infact still on.
This on the https://portal.plus.net/my/account_maintenance/interleaving_control.html page in my account.
Unfortunately the router I have (Plusnet Provided Thomson) doesnt seem to be able to show me if interleaving is on?

Re: Ah FEC! XD

Usually if there's 0 FEC errors showing then interleaving is off, that's not a bad way to tell?
Just checked the order and it's due to complete on the 3rd, so it'll still be on for a couple of days yet.

(Post deleted)
Fixed itself after a couple reboots and unplugging landline.

Re: Ah FEC! XD

Hi again, I did try opening a ticket about what I am about to ask but the answer was not what I was looking for so thought I would rely on you again. I asked about why interleaving doesn't seem to have been turned off and your CSC Analyst replied there is a set process and it isn't distributed between upstream and downtstream?Huh
Anyway as I requested earlier this year please can you take a look at turning off interleaving on my line? As you can see from my stats below I have managed to improve my line quality and am now getting far less errors than previously
