CAUTION: If the existing account has and uses the Plusnet provided email service, this tactic will terminate that email facility OVERNIGHT.
I did not find an indication that a fault condition has been explored with Plusnet ... did I miss that detail?

As the OP stated in their opening post that they had had an OR engineer out, I assume they had reported a fault?

... and loss of email assumed to be acceptable as @Albut17 is also considering leaving

And apparently presumed that if there is a fault the one engineer found ALL contributory factors and fixed ALL of them. Experience suggests that this is not always the case - sometimes situations need more than one follow-up to find all causes of below par performance.
As for email, we should not presume that this is on the user's radar, as similarly from experience the loss of email has been a total shock to a departing user.

Yes the router is directed plugged into the master socket.
I will try one of the older routers later today but I do not hold out any hope as the problem initally presented when I was using one of them anyway.
When I reported the fault to PN they said they thought the fault was within the house. The OR engineer replaced the master socket and also put a new box on the house coming from the telegraph pole (sorry do not know the technical name of this) this did improve the download speeds from around 7-8mb to 10-11mb however this latency/ping issue has remained. This was when I contacted PN again and they said they would send a new hub.
I believe PN is waiting for me to test the hub 2 and go from there. Hopefully this wont take much longer to be delivered.

That still appears to be true, from everything you've posted

At this point whether a fault exists of not, the fact @Albut17 wants to continue using the landline phone in to the future, is incompatible with continuing on Plusnet ADSL due to the imminent withdrawal of PSTN voice in 2025.
VoIP over ADSL is horrible without using a QoS capable router (and knowledge to tune it), and the fact that Plusnet don't appear to support SOADSL, @Albut17 needs to upgrade sooner rather than later away from ADSL - before losing both phone number and broadband.
Persisting with debugging what appears to be a working ADSL line is a pointless distraction from what needs to be done.

Not at all, as I'm not convinced this is necessarily an OpenReach issue - it may be an internal one that OR intervention is likely to cure? I honestly don't know, and from reading this topic, I doubt we, as a Community, are going to be able to sort it.
Quite honestly I would suggest the OP moves to FTTP - ADSL/ancient kit and a low understanding of remediation techniques needs, IMO, a drastic remedy.

Hi @Albut17 thank you for taking my call today. As discussed, the router seems to be the main culprit here as I was unable to carry out further work to the line, I will contact you back once the router has reached you!

Is it possible to get a call back about this issue and the upgrade to fibre that you suggested? As I was speaking with you directly about this I would rather not have to speak with a new colleague and go through the whole issue from the beginning again.

@Albut17 Have you received the new Hub and tried it? If so, what are the results?

Yes @jab1 I receieved the hub2 but unfortunately the issues are exactly the same regardless. I am still pulling my hair out! Two engineers have been out and not found any issues, my ticket was closed even though I do not consider anything being solved. I am very happy to upgrade at this point and was awaiting a call back from a particular representative but that has not materialized as yet.

Personally, @Albut17 , I had my doubts about 'the router being the main culprit here', but was interested to see if a new one would somehow miraculously cure the issue - which, unsurprisingly it didn't.
Unfortunately, this type of fault is in an area outside my pay-grade, but maybe @Townman or @Dan_the_Van could help you?

Lets see what the line stats look like.

@Townman just connected hub 1
i think these are the needed stats
6. Data rate:1103 / 12328
7. Maximum data rate:1100 / 12348
8. Noise margin:5.9 / 15.2
9. Line attenuation:14.0 / 30.2
10. Signal attenuation:14.3 / 29.4
i will post the chart later today once the router has been up and running for a while and ive got some sleep but so far i can see that the downstream is running at 15.2db whereas two weeks ago when i ran this test it was at 13.6db so not sure the significance of that if there is one?
