ADSL2+ trial period finished

Just completed ten day trial period after being moved to adsl2+
These are my current router stats.
Thompson TG585 v7
DSL Connection

Uptime: 2 days, 4:02:57
DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,199 / 19,323
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 7.0 / 20.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 6.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): NA / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): NA / 3,743
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 2,658
My Plusnet profile has been set at 16.8Mb
My download speeds according to Speedtest.net
have been fairly consistant at around 10Mb throughout the trial.
I had been hoping for a speed around about my Plusnet profile.
Is that possible with my router stats or is 10Mb as much as I'm likely to get.
Thanks for any help / advice
Chris

HI Novocastrian,
I've set your plusnet profile to 17000, let me know what speeds you get after about 15 minutes.

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

Hi Novocastrian,
I've just checked the line and the sync's at almost 20Mb but the profile seems to be stuck around 5 for some reason. I've requested an SNR reset for you, that should kick in today at some point and let the line retrain which should improve things for you.
Hope that helps, please let us know how it goes, cheers.

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

Still no change.
I keep checking the router stats and download speeds but they remain as previously stated, (see previous posts in this thread).
Is there anything that I should do?
There's an option to "restart" on the router gui, would that serve any purpose?
Thanks

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

HI Chris,
Looks to me like there's some back end funkiness going on. I need to raise this to get it looked at but can't proceed until you run a BT Speed test. So, if you could do that and let me know I can get moving on it for you.

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

Hi Jojo,
Thanks for your continued help  Smiley
Just ran the BT test. Results attached.
I've had to do it on a wireless connection. To do it wired would cause no end of difficulties.
If wired is an absolute must then I will bite the bullet and start moving the furniture around.
Thanks

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

Hi Jojo,
It did wonder early on in the proceedings if wireless might have been the cause of the problem, but because the router was in the same room as the computer with hardly fifteen feet separating them, I dismissed the idea.
Now I feel such a pillock for not having checked it out then  Embarrassed
Thanks for all your patience and help.

Re: ADSL2+ trial period finished

No worries, you can get ethernet cable up to 100m long or homeplugs which are also effective Smiley
