Installed a new router a week ago (Billion Bipac 7800n) to cure an unstable ADSL2+ connection. Was working fine all week until yesterday at 13:04 when it lost connection then regained it. After which, the internet was incredibly slow even though the sync speed was over 11M. A router reboot seemd to fix it but this morning, the internet is really slow again and sync speed is still 11M+.
I have got a ticket open #52327238
I see some other users are also getting slow internet problems but the Plusnet status says all is OK.

Hi cjags,
I can see one of our agents has responded to your ticket and has arranged for the line profile to be reset, which should restore your previous speeds - please let us know if that's not happened?

Yes. I have seen that and have reset the router here.
Speeds are fine again at the moment..
Will monitor over the next couple of weeks.

Sorry if it's a silly question but have you switched the router off and on? Also, does the router interface have a connect/disconnect button? If so can you try that too.

I am not near the router at the moment so can't do that and because the internet is down, I can't get remote access in to query/reboot the router or connection Give me an hour and I will be able to have a look at things and press some buttons.

Have you been playing with the SNR settings on the router by any chance? (the ability to do this seems to be the reason most people go for this router!)
Might be worth changing it back to the default (-1) if so

@defunked No. Plusnet reset the line last week and the router is in the training period.
@Joanne
Am now at the router and can see the problem. Router stats are:
DMT Status No Defect
Operational Mode ADSL2+
Upstream 447
Downstream 13283
SNR Margin(Upstream) 16.2
SNR Margin(Downstream) 0.3
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 21.5
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 37.0
When the router was last working, the downstream sync was around 9M, not 13M.
Interestingly, the router says it just can't connect to Plusnet.
