ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

Hi, what is my maximum possible broadband speed? Can anyone figure it out?
MAAF Speed tests indicate about 5Meg.
However, the BT website speed tester for my line says I can get the following:
Between 8.5Mb and 19.0Mb
(Estimated speed: 15.0Mb)
===================
Router stats:
Modem Status Connected
DownStream Connection Speed 7616 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps
VPI 0
VCI 38
===================
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7616 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 26.0 db 15.0 db
Noise Margin 13.0 db 23.0 db
===================
Colour me confused?!
My exchange is EMROTHW - might be upgraded to ADSL2+ by now...not certain though!

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

According to Samknows it should have been moved to 21CN at the end of last month however the Usergroup checker states
BT have announced a ready for service date for this exchange. The estimated go live date is between 20th April 2012 and 31st May 2012.
So it should be happening soon if it hasn't already.

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

It should be fine, do bear in mind that there is a 10 day line training period so the speeds may not increase immediately for that reason.

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

So as of today, my router stats are as below :
ADSL LinkDownstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16752 kbps 440 kbps
Line Attenuation 28.5 db 12.4 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 29.5 db
BT Speedtest shows:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 2.63 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 14.78 Mbps
I understand there is a 10 day 'training' period.  Do I just need to be patient  Lips are sealed while my profile updates itself?

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

Hi moley,
Sorry for the delay, we needed to update your connection speed and profile on our side. That's now been done for you, so you should be seeing improved speeds very shortly - please let us know if not.

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

OK, so here's what I got now...

BT speedtest says...
Download speedachieved during the test was - 8.98 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 14.78 Mbps
A good improvement by going to ADSL2+ (dare I say maybe a bit less than I had hoped though?

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

looking at your line of 28.5 this calculator suggest that 16512 is your theoretical max speed with a profile of 14000.

I would also add that when I switched to the PN router, my speed took a spike upwards from 18.50 approx. to 2088 approx, proving to me that my router was the issue

Re: ADSL2+? So....what is my max broadband speed?

Can some one from Plusnet staff confirm whether or not there is a MAAF equivalent to Plusnet customers' Current Line Speed and provide the relevant link please?

No, there's no equivalent on MAAF
