ADSL2 - LCP Down

Hello,
I have noted a number of other people having problems with LCP down issues in May. I'm assuming there is a fault or maintenance going on somewhere at the PlusNet / Exchange end?
I have a Netgear DGND3300v2 (N300) ADSL2+ modem router and I have had rock-solid connection for the last 6 months on that router. Before that I had a DG834PN for 4 years using the same BT master phone port with again rock solid connection. However, the last week I have had frequent over-night disconnects. In most instances the modem reconnects, but occassionally it failes completely requiring my manual intervention of logging into the router admin screen and clicking 'connect'. I replaced the phone cable to my modem including the filter, and no change. I also tried my old DG834PN modem router, but that makes no difference to the LCP down issue.
Note the LCP down / non-reconnection happens on a nightly basis (See the log below). During the day the connection is rock-solid. The pain is that most mornings I have to login again to my router to force a reconnect. Very rarely, but sometimes, I have to actually reboot the modem-router.

Obviously the above just shows the LCP down with successful reconnects, but as I said above, often the modem doesn't reconnect.

Re: ADSL2 - LCP Down

Hi tgl,
It seems there's more than just that going on. I'd have a look at our troubleshooting guide and raise a fault if necessary.

Re: ADSL2 - LCP Down

Hi TGL
I am running exactly the same router - I switched as I thought that the problem was with my old one (Linksys). However I am still getting regular disconnects although in between the noise margin is pretty stable so I don't think  this is related to the router. I note that my log also shows "UPnP set event:Teredo" so am assuming that IPv6 connectivity is not implemented on the network.
Did you ever get your problem resolved?
Cheers

Re: ADSL2 - LCP Down

The problem eventually sorted itself but I had to wait over a week (BTs IP profile was stuck).
Some interesting problems have subsequently occured - DMT (the DSL modem tool http://dmt.mhilfe.de/) stopped working. However, most curiously  today I was not able to run the complete BT speedtester (http://www.speedtester.bt.com/) as their system was trying to run something called a Tap3 test and I needed to reconfigure my connection to "speedtest@speedtest_domain" but could not get it to work. Even stranger, the downstram bitrate for my connection went up 22% (so I am hoping my IP profile will also come up in the next week or 2 or...) and DMT has started working again today. Don't you just love when things happen inexplicably.
