ADSL2+ Dissapointment

Major dissapointed!!
We have just had our line changed over to ADSL2+ at the exchange
The order apparently completed on Monday but since Friday we have a very very poor connection. When it was good it was good for all of 15-20mins then a either a stop or unbearably slow connection, simple web pages taking 10mins to load..
PS this is Wednesday afternoon and still nothing, ohh I tell a lie we had about 15 mins of a connection this morning.
Ive had numerous conversations with Plusnet and only getting an engineer tomorrow (Thur) 6 days after reporting the fault.
Our router is connected to a switch which is shared out to our 3 pc network (just for reference) we've made no changes, our normal adsl connection was perfect
Heres all the things i've tried to sort the problem:
I've connected the router direct to a pc - no help
I've connected someone elses working router and configured it - no help
I've changed the filter - nothing
i've changed the filter to modem cable - nothing
ive changed the cat5 patch cable to the switch - nothing
Tried to connect wirelessly - same problem
Tried all of the above with the BT faceplate on and off - nothing
Router stats say the following: mode ADSL2+(router is in multi) STATE:showtime Up Speed:440000 Down Speed:5941708 SNR:3 Loop ATT:47 HELP!!

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

I'm sorry to learn that the move to 21CN could have caused the fault, let us know how things go after the visit tomorrow and I'll intervene if you're still having issues after that point.

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

Thanks for the response Adam, i'm a tad sceptical, we have an IT company next door who during the same process ADSL to ADSL2+ 6 months ago had no luck at all, ended up they had to get a fibre service straight in after countless visits from the BT engineer brought no resolution.. We have agreed to the fibre service with yourselves but lets hope we can get some sort of connection in the meantime..

HI unipos,
Hopefully it won't be the same experience, let us know how you get on tomorrow and we can look at it further if need be.

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

What a bizarre problem.....a perfectly OK line until it was swapped to ADSL2+
I can't see how taking a line connection off a 20CN DSLAM and swapping it to a 21CN MSAN could result in those sorts of problems.
You've eliminated all the usual suspects
I'd be interested in the resolution/solution, not least because I have a perfectly decent 8Meg line and ADSL2+ arrives at my exchange next month..............

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

Good morning, well the engineer visited yesterday..
I wasn't in the office but my colleague filled me in..
The engineer did his testing and looked very confused and admitted there was something very "funky" going on with the line, but all equipment in the office was perfect.
He left again and went to the exchange, he came back and didn't really pass on much info but brought someone with him.. They left a while later and said it was working, it did work for a short time, approx 2 mins after he left then it went back to it's old tricks, unbearably slow and not loading pages at all
It seems ok this morning but it's been ok for a short period every morning, i'll monitor it and update this if anything happens.

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

well that's it all up the left again.. dropping connection.coming back fast, then slow, then nothing.. phoned PN and was told firstly it looked fine from their end(it's looked like that all week) then was told another engineer had to be booked for monday(the office is closed Saturday)
this is NOT good for business Sad
Please help Plusnet MODS!!

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

one final update before the weekend.
Obviously something the engineer did helped, dont know what that was though..
Definetly domething to be learned here when broadband gets switched to ADSL2+
here's the speed test results i've been carrying out since the whole carry-on kicked off:

Re: ADSL2+ Dissapointment

Monday Morning, just into the office, decided to tidy up where our router is and settle into some work, emails etc.. Guess what, no connection(dsl light on router flashing grrrr!!!!) decided to have another look in the ceiling space, did I dis-lodge something tidying up the cables at the router, surely not, I only moved a ceiling tile.. All the cables and filter got changed(to new) it couldn't be any of those, whats the only thing that didnt get changed, I wonder.. THE BT FACE PLATE!! I re-seated the connectors into the plate really hard and voila!!perfection!! connection again.. Thankfully we have an engineer appt booked for this morning, he'll be putting a new plate on!!
