Connection had been fine all weekend at 5975 kbps. Then I noticed this morning there was a disconnect at 5.54am after 70 hours of connection up time in my 2700HGV log.
On further investigation, my target noise margin has dropped from desired/previous 9db to unwanted/too low 6db.
I manually resynced a few minutes ago and I am now connected at a dizzy 6,745 kbps. I'm expecting the connection to drop this evening when the noise margin drops especially in poor weather. (Perhaps hasn't helped that it has been mostly dry for the past week)
Does moving from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ usually result in starting a new 10 day line training period?
On a separate note, my PN profile has been stuck at 4mb for the past fortnight but reading other posts, it looks like I'm not alone, and it appears to be a BT problem.
Final update 1 Nov 2011: Target Noise margin dropped again a few days later to 3dB !.
During the daytime, I can now sync at 7,800kbps, 53db downstream attenuation, 3db noise margin, interleave Off.
But at night, the noise margin goes negative and the CRC errors rack up at an alarming rate. Actual throughput drops to 1,500kbps downstream but line doesn't drop even at 7,800 kbps with my 2700HGV.
I normally leave my router switched on 24/7. If I have to reboot my router for any reason and speeds are too high, I now try to manually resync around dusk to give me a line sync of 6,500 kbps which doesn't result in excessive CRC errors at night. My PN profile of 5.5Mb is still 1Mb higher than previously with ADSL1.

Yes it does, so the SNR may settle higher than it is at present. I'd see how things pan out over the training period. We can always perform an SNR reset after then if we see no improvement.
