ADSL to FTTC

Probably a simple question, but I' not that tech savvy these days!

I am thinking of changing from my ADSL connection to FTTC as the price differentials are quite small.

Will I need and engineer visit to facilitate this or will I be able to just swap out my current router to the Hub 2 using my existing phone socket connections?

I do realise that the FTTC will mean I will lose my landline phone but that is not an issue for me.

an OPenreach engineer will visit the local FTTC cabinet to make your connection.

Once you get the Hub 2 , you can swap it out immediately, it will work on your existing ADSL and once the engineer has done the connection at the cabinet it will automatically switch to FTTC.

@frankandliz

When swapping the routers, note that the Hub2 will have a different network ID and password. You can chage it to what you currently have or change any device using WiFi.

Re: ADSL to FTTC

So are you saying once the engineer does his bit at the cabinet I can get fibre speeds on my existing router without having to install the Hub 2?

Re: ADSL to FTTC

Fix

If it is a Hub1, then the answer is yes, but the Hub2 is a better kit - and newer.
