What I'm a bit confused about is that the new router stats make it seem as if our ADSL link is dropping and reconnecting every 30 minutes or so. Is there any way I can confirm this because I haven't noticed any issues since swapping I think!

Maybe try this - is that your router mentioned in the list ( may be similar and work anyway)

Our tests aren't showing any issues.
I'd recommend raising it to us here.

Wow - you did give a hammering on saturday but not too bad since (not every half hour??)
Not sure all your settings are correct maybe look at the IPv6 bits in case there is a conflict
Here is a FIBRE set up but may help as that is for IPv4 setup as well

I think I may have isolated the fauly. I had a 582n in use as an access point. I disconnected it from the network with this router at 7.45pm yesterday and no drops yet. So either it's that, or could a bad cat 5e cause bad enough issues to drop connection completely?
I might hold off on raising a fault just yet, I'll keep you posted on how it goes over the next few days.

I suspect it's just not printing all values for the "Since Link time" under the "ADSL Counters" section. It only seems to be printing only the minutes and seconds. But the FEC counts since link time are the same as for the total time (in these particular instances).

This may take a day or two to get back, maybe PN can intervene and reduce them
but they like to see a period of stability first. I personally would leave it until the weekend
and if no improvement try a resync during the day around 14.00 2pm but not after 7pm.
Others who understand the stats better may a different view.
Funnukly enough I did a search on your 888 upload spead and your post from 2 years ago came up.

Strange that those stats aren't returning the Attenuation - can't deduce what sync speed you might be able to achieve.
How exactly did you have the 582n connected as an AP? It might be best to resolve that issue before an SNR Reset so as to avoid upsetting DLM after the reset.

So I've got two cat 5e cables running from my modem router to the attic. One terminates there into a ZyXEL 16 port switch, the other continues to the other side of our house plugging into the first ethernet port of the 582n. I set it up by disabling IPv4 and IPv6 DHCP.
Anyway, since it's been disconnected on late Tuesday night, the router doesn't report any drops, nor have I noticed any. I'm not planning on reusing the uselss 582n which is now confined to electronic recycling I'll test the run of cable that was supplying it but in all likelihood, I'll tear it out and replace it with a new run just to be safe.

Out of interest, how does PN determine the line speed? I just ask because I've been posting on kitz about some other networking stuff and came across the max speed calculator tool

Do you have a Master Socket similar to the one on the left?
Do you have any extension phone sockets, and what is normally plugged in where? Are you using any plug-in extension phone/router leads?
Do all your Microfilters look similar to this?
