ADSL - No Internet - keeps dropping connection

Hi all - Internet keeps disconnecting and now has been off for 3 days.

Engineers been out multiple times and said it was a fault on the line and is resolved but it keeps happening.

My question is - could heavy rain and storm affect the broadband? Could heavy rain affect the line disconnectng on exchange?

I am on ADLS and router is 2704n.

Cheers..

@Anonymous In answer to your question - yes, heavy rain and bad weather could affect your BB connection. Have you checked the phone line for noise - dial 17070 option 2 from a (preferably) corded phone. Is your cabling overhead or underground?

Re: ADSL - No Internet - keeps dropping connection

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. My cabling is overhead to a telegraph pole.

I live out in the sticks a bit but had no problems for years.

On a side note - These dishes have "appeared" recently on the telegraph pole (see attached). Any idea what these could be?

Thanks ,

Sq.

Re: ADSL - No Internet - keeps dropping connection

Is it all overhead from the exchange? If so, high winds could have damaged it anywhere along its length.

Those 'dishes' could be in preparation for Fibre - but don't quote me, I'm not a telecoms expert.😁

Re: ADSL - No Internet - keeps dropping connection

Sorry - couldn't figure out how to attach the above photos in myprevious message!

Anyone know what these are attached to the telegraph pole outside my house?

There are 4 little circular dishes - 2 directed upwards and 2 horizontal.

Looks like they are connected to the black box above with writing on. Not sure what the writing says. Could be TTCKV???

Any ideas?

Thanks.....
