Re: ADSL 21CN Speed only 4MB?

DSL Connection Details
DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT Annex A
Downstream Rate: 6048 kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 kbps
Channel: Interleaved
Current Noise Margin: 12.0 dB (Downstream), 19.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 45.3 dB (Downstream), 29.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 19.8 dBm (Downstream), 11.5 dBm (Upstream)
DSLAM Vendor Information: Country: {0xB5} Vendor: {IFTN} Specific: {0xB971}
PVC Info: 0/38
Thats what it says so am guessing that G.DMT is ASDL1 then? Am a bit confused as to why my router says 6MB downstream rate , yet i did a speed test and got 13MB, does this mean anything is wrong?

Re: ADSL 21CN Speed only 4MB?

Yes, G.DMT means ADSL1 (or maxDSL). The Annex A means 'over POTS' the Plain Old Telephone Service.
The 13Mbps speedtest result is just wrong/invalid - it will be an instantaneous measurement over an interval too short to give a meaningful value.

Re: ADSL 21CN Speed only 4MB?

How do I check if my router is on multi mode? My router is 2wire by the way not sure of the model number I'm at work.

There are only 2 models of 2wire routers commonly available. The 1800HG which does not support ADSL2+ and the 2700HGV ( aka BT Business Hub ) which does. Its likely you've got the 2700 as the 1800 is now getting very long in the tooth. The 2700 is ALWAYS in multimode there is no way to select otherwise.
Hope that helps.

With your attenuation you are not going to see much of an increase!

Re: ADSL 21CN Speed only 4MB?

Hi liam8888
Just placed the order manually, should complete on the 9th of March. A quick test shows that the Indicative line quality is red as of today as the Mean Time Between Errors is 469 Seconds for Downstream. Would you be able to try the test socket for a day or 2 at all?

Re: ADSL 21CN Speed only 4MB?

Has being plugged into the test socket helped noticed my line speed is still slower then when I was on value (still in 10 day wait), I'm assumming it will go higher, if not its slower being on pro then value  Huh
