Hi all, do plusnet supply a 5ghz router for fibre or am I stuck with a 2.4 Ghz. I have a WNR1000 v3 and the Thomson router that was supplied with my router.

They just supply the thomson ones, you will need to buy your own 5ghz, i use the Asus RT-N56u although quite a few use the newer version RT-N66u

I can recommend the Netgear WNDR4300 (N750). I installed one at home about 3 months ago and been really pleased with it. It's got 2.4Ghz for legacy stuff and 5Ghz for newer kit. I just use a second SSID with-5G tagged on at the end as obviously it doesn't allow 2 SSID's with the same ID.
This is used with PlusNet fibre, has an RJ45 WAN port rather than RJ11.

I'm also an Asus RT-N56U user, it's absolutely brilliant, easy to set up & intuitive to use.
